⁴ But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt,^(A) so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’”

⁶ And the next day the Lord did it: All the livestock^(A) of the Egyptians died,^(B) but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died.

²⁶ The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen,^(A) where the Israelites were.^(B)

²³ No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.^(A)

⁷ But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any person or animal.’ Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction^(A) between Egypt and Israel.

¹³ The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over^(A) you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.^(B)

⁵ Now if you obey me fully^(A) and keep my covenant,^(B) then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.^(C) Although the whole earth^(D) is mine,

²⁰ But as for you, the Lord took you and brought you out of the iron-smelting furnace,^(A) out of Egypt,^(B) to be the people of his inheritance,^(C) as you now are.

⁶ For you are a people holy^(A) to the Lord your God.^(B) The Lord your God has chosen^(C) you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.^(D)

² for you are a people holy^(A) to the Lord your God.^(B) Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.^(C)
