⁵ Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ^(A)‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’ ”

⁶ So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and ^(A)the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

The Third Plague: Lice

¹⁶ So the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the land, so that it may become ^[a]lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’ ”

²² Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be ^(A)hail in all the land of Egypt—on man, on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.”

¹² Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come upon the land of Egypt, and ^(B)eat every herb of the land—all that the hail has left.”

The Ninth Plague: Darkness

²¹ Then the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, ^[a]darkness which may even be felt.”

²¹ Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and ^(A)made the sea into dry land, and the waters were ^(B)divided.

²⁶ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.”
