³ But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart^(A) and multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ Pharaoh will not listen to you, but I will put my hand into Egypt and bring the military divisions of my people the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.

²² For false messiahs and false prophets will arise and will perform signs and wonders^(A) to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

²³ While he was in Jerusalem^(A) during the Passover Festival,^(B) many believed in his name^(C) when they saw the signs he was doing. ²⁴ Jesus, however, would not entrust himself to them, since he knew them all ²⁵ and because he did not need anyone to testify about man; for he himself knew what was in man.^(D)

²⁶ Jesus answered, “Truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw^[a] the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
