The Altar of Burnt Offering^(A)

27 “Build an altar^(B) of acacia wood, three cubits^[a] high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.^[b]

²⁹ He set the altar^(A) of burnt offering near the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it burnt offerings and grain offerings,^(B) as the Lord commanded^(C) him.

³⁸ the censers of the men who sinned at the cost of their lives.^(A) Hammer the censers into sheets to overlay the altar,^(B) for they were presented before the Lord and have become holy. Let them be a sign^(C) to the Israelites.”

⁵ Build there an altar^(A) to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool^(B) on them.

The Covenant Renewed at Mount Ebal

³⁰ Then Joshua built on Mount Ebal^(A) an altar^(B) to the Lord, the God of Israel,

¹⁴ As for the bronze altar^(A) that stood before the Lord, he brought it from the front of the temple—from between the new altar and the temple of the Lord—and put it on the north side of the new altar.

The Temple’s Furnishings^(A)

4 He made a bronze altar^(B) twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high.^[a]

² Then Joshua^(A) son of Jozadak^(B) and his fellow priests and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel^(C) and his associates began to build the altar of the God of Israel to sacrifice burnt offerings on it, in accordance with what is written in the Law of Moses^(D) the man of God.
