³ Then Moses went up to God,^(A) and the Lord called^(B) to him from the mountain and said, “This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:

⁴² “For the generations to come^(A) this burnt offering is to be made regularly^(B) at the entrance to the tent of meeting,^(C) before the Lord. There I will meet you and speak to you;^(D)

⁶ Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover^(A) that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you.

³⁶ Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet^(A) with you. It shall be most holy^(B) to you.

The Burnt Offering

1 The Lord called to Moses^(A) and spoke to him from the tent of meeting.^(B) He said,

² The Lord said to Moses: “Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses^(A) into the Most Holy Place^(B) behind the curtain^(C) in front of the atonement cover^(D) on the ark, or else he will die. For I will appear^(E) in the cloud^(F) over the atonement cover.

⁴ Place them in the tent of meeting^(A) in front of the ark of the covenant law,^(B) where I meet with you.^(C)
