⁸ And I will bring you to the land^(A) I swore^(B) with uplifted hand^(C) to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.^(D) I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’”^(E)

³ Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword?^(A) Our wives and children^(B) will be taken as plunder.^(C) Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?^(D)”

⁸ If the Lord is pleased with us,^(A) he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(B) and will give it to us.^(C)
