The surging waters stood up like a wall;^(C)
    the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.^(D)
9 The enemy boasted,
    ‘I will pursue,^(E) I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils;^(F)
    I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword
    and my hand will destroy them.’
¹⁰ But you blew with your breath,^(G)
    and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
    in the mighty waters.^(H)

¹⁵ The valleys of the sea were exposed
    and the foundations^(A) of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke,^(B) Lord,
    at the blast of breath from your nostrils.^(C)
