² and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us,^(A) a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

Christ, a High Priest

5 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed in matters pertaining to God for the people, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

³ Because of this, he must make an offering for his own sins as well as for the people.^(A)

¹² he entered the most holy place once for all time, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.^(A)

²⁸ so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,^(A) will appear a second time,^(B) not to bear sin, but^[a] to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.^(C)
