Ecclesiastes 12:7-9

⁷ before dust returns to the earth as it was before
and the life-breath returns to God who gave it.

⁸Perfectly pointless, says the Teacher, everything is pointless.

⁹Additionally: Because the Teacher was wise, he constantly taught the people knowledge. He listened and investigated. He composed many proverbs.

Ecclesiastes 12:7-9

⁷and the dust returns^(A) to the ground it came from,
and the spirit returns to God^(B) who gave it.^(C)

⁸“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.^[a]^(D)
“Everything is meaningless!^(E)”

⁹Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs.^(F)
