^14 (A)You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you, ¹⁵ for the Lord your God who is in the midst of you is a ^(B)jealous God; so follow Him, or else the anger of the Lord your God will be kindled against you, and He will ^[a]wipe you off the face of the earth.

¹⁹ And it shall come about, if you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and serve and worship them, ^(A)I testify against you today that you will certainly perish.

²⁸ and the ^(A)curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, ^[a]by following other gods which you have not known.

¹⁰ This wicked people, who ^(A)refuse to listen to My words, who ^(B)walk in the stubbornness of their hearts and have followed other gods to serve them and to bow down to them, let them be just like this undergarment which is completely useless.
