¹⁶ ‘^(A)Honor your father and your mother, just as the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)so that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well for you on the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

^33 (A)You shall walk ^[a]entirely in the way which the Lord your God has commanded you, ^(B)so that you may live and that it may be well for you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.

² so that you, your son, and your grandson will ^(A)fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, ^(B)all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

⁸ “You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, ^(A)so that you may be strong and go in and take possession of the land into which you are about to cross to possess it; ⁹ and ^(B)so that you may prolong your days on the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them and to their ^[a]descendants, ^(C)a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁷ You shall not build a house, and you shall not sow seed nor plant a vineyard, nor ^[a]own one; but you shall live in ^(A)tents all your days, so that you may live ^(B)many days ^[b]in the land where you ^(C)live as strangers.’
