²² If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true,^(A) that is a message the Lord has not spoken.^(B) That prophet has spoken presumptuously,^(C) so do not be alarmed.

³⁴ “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign^(A) to you—they will both die^(B) on the same day.^(C)

⁹ As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed^(A) Saul’s heart, and all these signs^(B) were fulfilled^(C) that day.
