⁴¹ when I sharpen my flashing sword^(A)
    and my hand grasps it in judgment,
I will take vengeance^(B) on my adversaries
    and repay those who hate me.^(C)

¹⁹ It is said, ‘God stores up the punishment of the wicked for their children.’^(A)
    Let him repay the wicked, so that they themselves will experience it!^(B)

⁶ “Flee^(A) from Babylon!
    Run for your lives!
    Do not be destroyed because of her sins.^(B)
It is time^(C) for the Lord’s vengeance;^(D)
    he will repay^(E) her what she deserves.

⁶ Give back to her as she has given;
    pay her back^(A) double^(B) for what she has done.
    Pour her a double portion from her own cup.^(C)
