Curses on Disobedience^(A)

¹⁵ “But it shall come to pass, ^(B)if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

^14 (A)I will be his Father, and he shall be ^(B)My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the ^[a]blows of the sons of men.

¹² because they ^(A)did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed His covenant and all that Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded; and they would neither hear nor do them.

²⁷ “But if you will not heed Me to hallow the Sabbath day, such as not carrying a burden when entering the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then ^(A)I will kindle a fire in its gates, ^(B)and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be ^(C)quenched.” ’ ”

⁴ And you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: ^(A)“If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you,

²³ And they came in and took possession of it, but ^(A)they have not obeyed Your voice or walked in Your law. They have done nothing of all that You commanded them to do; therefore You have caused all this calamity to come upon them.

²³ Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord or walked in His law, in His statutes or in His testimonies, ^(A)therefore this calamity has happened to you, as at this day.”
