² The Sovereign Lord has sworn by his holiness:
    “The time^(A) will surely come
when you will be taken away^(B) with hooks,^(C)
    the last of you with fishhooks.^[a]

¹⁴ You have made people like the fish in the sea,
    like the sea creatures that have no ruler.
¹⁵ The wicked^(A) foe pulls all of them up with hooks,^(B)
    he catches them in his net,^(C)
he gathers them up in his dragnet;
    and so he rejoices and is glad.
