Then when Paul noticed[a] that part of them were Sadducees[b] and the others Pharisees,[c] he shouted out in the council,[d] “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. I am on trial concerning the hope of the resurrection[e] of the dead!” When he said this,[f] an argument[g] began[h] between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.
