3 “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart(A) to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds of the land? 4 Wasn’t it yours while you possessed it? And after it was sold, wasn’t it at your disposal? Why is it that you planned this thing in your heart? You have not lied to people but to God.” 5 When he heard these words, Ananias dropped dead, and a great fear came on all who heard.(B)

3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan(A) has so filled your heart(B) that you have lied to the Holy Spirit(C) and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?(D) 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal?(E) What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”(F)
5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died.(G) And great fear(H) seized all who heard what had happened.
