²⁶ so that your name will be exalted forever, when it is said, “The Lord of Armies is God over Israel.” The house of your servant David^(A) will be established before you

²³ I will establish over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will shepherd them. He will tend them himself and will be their shepherd.^{(A) 24} I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David^(B) will be a prince among them. I, the Lord, have spoken.

²⁴ My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them.^(A) They will follow my ordinances, and keep my statutes and obey them.^(B)

²⁵ “‘They will live in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob,^(C) where your ancestors lived. They will live in it forever with their children and grandchildren, and my servant David will be their prince forever.^(D)
