^29 (A)In his days Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went ^[a]to the aid of the king of Assyria, to the River Euphrates; and King Josiah went against him. And Pharaoh Necho killed him at ^(B)Megiddo when he ^(C)confronted him.

⁷ And ^(A)the king of Egypt did not come out of his land anymore, for ^(B)the king of Babylon had taken all that belonged to the king of Egypt from the Brook of Egypt to the River Euphrates.

^20 (B)After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against ^(C)Carchemish by the Euphrates; and Josiah went out against him.
