[a]Wherefore the wrath of the Lord hath been on Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath made them a [b]scattering, a desolation, and an hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

For lo, our fathers are fallen by the sword, and our sons, and our daughters, and our wives are in captivity for the same cause.

10 Now [c]I purpose to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that he may [d]turn away his fierce wrath from us.
