8 Therefore the (A)wrath of the Lord fell upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has (B)given them up to trouble, to desolation, and to (C)jeering, as you see with your (D)eyes. 9 For indeed, because of this (E)our fathers have fallen by the sword; and our sons, our daughters, and our wives are in captivity.
10 “Now it is in my heart to make (F)a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that His fierce wrath may turn away from us.

8 Therefore, the anger of the Lord has fallen on Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of dread and horror(A) and scorn,(B) as you can see with your own eyes. 9 This is why our fathers have fallen by the sword and why our sons and daughters and our wives are in captivity.(C) 10 Now I intend to make a covenant(D) with the Lord, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger(E) will turn away from us.
