⁹ We know that the law is not meant for a righteous person, but for the lawless and rebellious,^(A) for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers,

⁷ But have nothing to do with irreverent and silly myths.^(A) Rather, train yourself in godliness,^(B)

Guard the Heritage

²⁰ Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you,^(A) avoiding^(B) irreverent, empty speech and contradictions from the “knowledge” that falsely bears that name.^(C)

¹⁶ But avoid irreverent, empty speech, for this will produce an even greater measure of godlessness.^(A)
