⁶ So he said to his men, “^(A)Far be it from me because of the Lord that I would do this thing to my lord, the Lord’s anointed, to reach out with my hand against him, since he is the Lord’s anointed.”

⁹ But David said to Abishai, “Do not ^[a]kill him, for ^(A)who can reach out with his hand against the Lord’s anointed and remain innocent?”

^11 (A)The Lord forbid that I would reach out with my hand against the Lord’s anointed! But now please take the spear that is at his head and the jug of water, and let’s go.”
