6 When the Israelites saw that their situation was critical and that their army was hard pressed, they hid(A) in caves and thickets, among the rocks, and in pits and cisterns.(B)
30 In that day(A) they will roar over it like the roaring of the sea.(B)And if one looks at the land, there is only darkness(C) and distress;(D) even the sun will be darkened(E) by clouds.
21 Distressed and hungry,(A) they will roam through the land;(B) when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse(C) their king and their God.
16 Lord, they came to you in their distress;(A) when you disciplined(B) them, they could barely whisper(C) a prayer.[a]
3 They told him, “This is what Hezekiah says: This day is a day of distress(A) and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth(B) and there is no strength to deliver them.
