²² For ^(A)the Lord will not abandon His people ^(B)on account of His great name, because the Lord ^(C)has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.

³⁵ ‘For I will ^(A)protect this city to save it ^(B)for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’”

⁹ But I acted ^(A)for the sake of My name, that it would ^(B)not be defiled in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

¹⁴ But I acted for the sake of My name, so that it would not be defiled before the eyes of the nations, before whose eyes I had brought them out.

²² But I ^(A)withdrew My hand and acted ^(B)for the sake of My name, so that it would not be defiled in the sight of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.

⁴⁴ Then ^(A)you will know that I am the Lord, when I have dealt with you ^(B)in behalf of My name, not according to your evil ways or according to your corrupt deeds, house of Israel,” declares the Lord God.’”
