⁹ So ^(A)give Your servant ^[a]an understanding heart to judge Your people, ^(B)to discern between good and evil. For who is capable of judging this ^[b]great people of Yours?”

¹¹ And God said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have ^(A)not asked for yourself ^[a]a long life, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself discernment to understand justice, ¹² behold, ^(B)I have done according to your words. Behold, ^(C)I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has been no one like you before you, nor shall one like you arise after you.

¹⁷ And as for these four youths, ^(A)God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every kind of ^[a]literature and expertise; Daniel even understood all kinds of ^(B)visions and dreams.

² that their ^(A)hearts may be encouraged, having been ^(B)knit together in love, and that they would attain to all ^(C)the wealth ^[a]that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a ^(D)true knowledge of ^(E)God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, ³ in whom are hidden all ^(F)the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
