Elijah’s Prayer

³⁶ Then ^(A)at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet approached and said, “^(B)Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, today let it be known that ^(C)You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant, and that ^(D)I have done all these things at Your word. ³⁷ Answer me, Lord, answer me, so that this people may know that You, Lord, are God, and that You have turned their heart back.”

¹⁶ “Lord of armies, God of Israel, ^(A)who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are the ^(B)God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. ^(C)You made heaven and earth.

²³ And I will ^(A)vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. Then the ^(B)nations will know that I am the Lord,” declares the Lord God, “when I show Myself holy among you in their sight.
