³⁷ But he who stands firm in his heart (who is under no compulsion, but has control over his own will^(A)) and has decided in his heart to keep his own virgin, will do well.

¹² About our brother Apollos:^(A) I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but he was not at all willing to come now. However, he will come when he has an opportunity.

³ We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly^(A) desires, carrying out the inclinations^(B) of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath^(C) as the others were also.

²⁶ Then they may come to their senses and escape the Devil’s trap,^(A) having been captured by him to do his will.^(B)
