⁵² And Jesus said to the chief priests and ^(A)officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs ^(B)as you would against a man inciting a revolt?

4 As they were speaking to the people, the priests and ^(A)the captain of the temple guard and ^(B)the Sadducees ^(C)came up to them,

²⁴ Now when ^(A)the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them as to what ^[a]would come of this.

²⁶ Then ^(A)the captain went along with ^(B)the officers and proceeded to bring them back without violence (for ^(C)they were afraid of the people, that they might be stoned).
