²⁵ For David said, “The Lord, the God of Israel, ^(A)has given rest to his people, and he dwells in Jerusalem for ever.

¹⁰ But when ^(A)you go over the Jordan and live in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to inherit, ^(B)and when he gives you rest from all your enemies around, so that you live in safety,

^44 (A)And the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. ^(B)Not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for ^(C)the Lord had given all their enemies into their hands.

Joshua's Charge to Israel's Leaders

23 A long time afterwards, when the Lord had given ^(A)rest to Israel from all their surrounding enemies, and Joshua ^(B)was old and well advanced in years,
