¹⁴Now the Lord ^(A)raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was a descendant of the king in Edom.

¹⁴Then the Lord raised up against Solomon an adversary,^(A) Hadad the Edomite, from the royal line of Edom.

²³And God raised up another adversary against him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord, ^(A)Hadadezer king of Zobah.

²³And God raised up against Solomon another adversary,^(A) Rezon son of Eliada, who had fled from his master, Hadadezer^(B) king of Zobah.
