5 They are of the world: therefore speak they as of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he who is not of God heareth us not. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God.

5 They are from the world(A) and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us.(B) This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth(C) and the spirit of falsehood.(D)

7 Dear friends, let us love one another,(E) for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God(F) and knows God.(G)
