2 Now the people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech and their men (A)to entreat the favour of the Lord, 3 (B)saying to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts and (C)the prophets, “Should I weep and (D)abstain in (E)the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?”

2 The people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-Melek, together with their men, to entreat(A) the Lord(B) 3 by asking the priests of the house of the Lord Almighty and the prophets, “Should I mourn(C) and fast in the fifth(D) month, as I have done for so many years?”
4 Then the word of the Lord Almighty came to me:
