⁴ The arrows^(A) of the Almighty^(B) are in me,^(C)
    my spirit drinks^(D) in their poison;^(E)
    God’s terrors^(F) are marshaled against me.^(G)

¹³     his archers surround me.^(A)
Without pity, he pierces^(B) my kidneys
    and spills my gall on the ground.

⁶ then know that God has wronged me^(A)
    and drawn his net^(B) around me.^(C)

⁸ He has blocked my way so I cannot pass;^(A)
    he has shrouded my paths in darkness.^(B)

¹² His troops advance in force;^(A)
    they build a siege ramp^(B) against me
    and encamp around my tent.^(C)

⁸ You have taken from me my closest friends^(A)
    and have made me repulsive to them.
I am confined^(B) and cannot escape;^(C)

⁴ Like an enemy he has strung his bow;^(A)
    his right hand is ready.
Like a foe he has slain
    all who were pleasing to the eye;^(B)
he has poured out his wrath^(C) like fire^(D)
    on the tent^(E) of Daughter Zion.

⁷ He has walled me in so I cannot escape;^(A)
    he has weighed me down with chains.^(B)
