⁷ A ^(A)lion has gone up from his thicket,
And a ^(B)destroyer of nations has set out;
He has gone out from his place
To ^(C)make your land a waste.
Your cities will be ruins,
Without an inhabitant.

⁶ Therefore ^(A)a lion from the forest will kill them,
A ^(B)wolf of the deserts will destroy them,
A ^(C)leopard is watching their cities.
Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces,
Because their ^(D)wrongdoings are many,
Their apostasies are numerous.

¹⁴ For I will be ^(A)like a lion to Ephraim
And like a young lion to the house of Judah.
^(B)I, yes I, will tear to pieces and go away,
I will carry away, and there will be ^(C)no one to rescue.

⁷ So I will be ^(A)like a lion to them;
Like a ^(B)leopard I will ^[a]lie in wait by the wayside.
⁸ I will confront them ^(C)like a bear deprived of her cubs,
And I will tear open ^[b]their chests;
I will also ^(D)devour them there like a lioness,
As a wild animal would tear them to pieces.
