⁵ Then ^[a]the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every ^(A)intent^[b] of the thoughts of his heart was only evil ^[c]continually.

²¹ And the Lord smelled ^(A)a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again ^(B)curse the ground for man’s sake, although the ^(C)imagination^[a] of man’s heart is evil from his youth; ^(D)nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

^21 (A)For from within, out of the heart of men, ^(B)proceed evil thoughts, ^(C)adulteries, ^(D)fornications, murders,

²⁹ being filled with all unrighteousness, ^[a]sexual immorality, wickedness, ^[b]covetousness, ^[c]maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, ³⁰ backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ^31 [d]undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, ^[e]unforgiving, unmerciful; ³² who, ^(A)knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things ^(B)are deserving of death, not only do the same but also ^(C)approve of those who practice them.

¹⁹ Now ^(A)the works of the flesh are evident, which are: ^[a]adultery, ^[b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, ^[c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that ^(B)those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
