⁴⁴ Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt.”^(A)

¹⁰ “No, my lord,^(A)” they answered. “Your servants have come to buy food.^(B)

¹⁶ “What can we say to my lord?^(A)” Judah^(B) replied. “What can we say? How can we prove our innocence?^(C) God has uncovered your servants’^(D) guilt. We are now my lord’s slaves^(E)—we ourselves and the one who was found to have the cup.^(F)”

¹⁸ Then Judah^(A) went up to him and said: “Pardon your servant, my lord,^(B) let me speak a word to my lord. Do not be angry^(C) with your servant, though you are equal to Pharaoh himself.

²² And to you I give one more ridge of land^[a](A) than to your brothers,^(B) the ridge I took from the Amorites with my sword^(C) and my bow.”
