¹⁸ So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre^(A) at Hebron,^(B) where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the Lord.^(C)

¹³ Then Joshua blessed^(A) Caleb son of Jephunneh^(B) and gave him Hebron^(C) as his inheritance.^(D)

¹³ In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb^(A) son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba^(B), that is, Hebron.^(C) (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)^(D)

⁷ So they set apart Kedesh^(A) in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem^(B) in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba^(C) (that is, Hebron^(D)) in the hill country of Judah.^(E)

³ But Samson lay there only until the middle of the night. Then he got up and took hold of the doors of the city gate, together with the two posts, and tore them loose, bar and all. He lifted them to his shoulders and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron.^(A)
