¹⁶ You shall ^(A)put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

²¹ Then ^(A)you shall put the atoning cover ^[a]on top of the ark, and ^(B)in the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you.

² Then ^(A)I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you smashed to pieces, and ^(B)you shall put them in the ark.’ ³ So ^(C)I made an ark of acacia wood and ^(D)cut out two tablets of stone like the first two, and I went up on the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. ⁴ Then He wrote on the tablets, like the first writing, ^(E)the Ten ^[a]Commandments ^(F)which the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire ^(G)on the day of the assembly; and the Lord gave them to me. ⁵ Then I turned and ^(H)came down from the mountain, and I ^(I)put the tablets in the ark which I had made; ^(J)and they are there, just as the Lord commanded me.”

⁴ having a golden ^[a](A)altar of incense and ^(B)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(C)a golden jar holding the manna, ^(D)Aaron’s staff which budded, and ^(E)the tablets of the covenant;
