²¹ Everyone who heard him was astonished and said, “This is the man who harassed those who were calling on Jesus’^[a] name in Jerusalem, isn’t it? Didn’t he come here to bring them in chains to the high priests?” ²² But Saul grew more and more persuasive, and continued to confound the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that this man was the Messiah.^[b]
