¹² Then ^(A)Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials. And ^(B)the king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.

¹⁶ The sons of Jehoiakim were his son Jeconiah and his son Zedekiah.

^9 (A)Jehoiachin was ^[a]eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned for three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did evil in the sight of the Lord.

Captivity in Babylon Begun

^10 (B)At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent men and had him brought to Babylon with the valuable articles of the house of the Lord; and he made his relative ^(C)Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

²⁴ “As I live,” declares the Lord, “even if ^[a](A)Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were a ^(B)signet ring on My right hand, yet I would pull ^[b]you ^[c]off;

Baskets of Figs and the Returnees

24 After ^(A)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the officials of Judah with the craftsmen and metalworkers from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the Lord showed me: behold, two ^(B)baskets of figs placed before the temple of the Lord.

^31 (A)Now it came about in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth of the month, that ^[a]Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, ^[b](B)showed favor to Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison.
