⁹ you also have done more evil than all who were before you, and ^(A)you have gone and made for yourself other gods and ^(B)cast metal images to provoke Me to anger, and have ^(C)thrown Me behind your back— ¹⁰ therefore behold, I am bringing disaster on the house of Jeroboam, and ^(D)I will eliminate from Jeroboam ^[a]every male person, ^(E)both ^[b]bond and free in Israel, and I ^(F)will make a clean sweep of the house of Jeroboam, just as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone.

Prophecy against Baasha

16 Now the word of the Lord came to ^(A)Jehu the son of ^(B)Hanani against Baasha, saying, ² “Since I ^(C)exalted you from the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and ^(D)you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have misled My people Israel into sin, provoking Me to anger with their sins, ³ behold, ^(E)I am going to ^[a]burn ^(F)Baasha and his house, and ^(G)I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

^32 [a]Fill up, then, the measure of the guilt of your fathers. ³³ You snakes, ^(A)you ^[b]offspring of vipers, how ^[c]will you escape the ^[d]sentence of ^[e](B)hell?

³⁴ “^(C)Therefore, behold, ^(D)I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will ^(E)flog in your synagogues, and ^(F)persecute from city to city, ³⁵ so that upon you will fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous ^(G)Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the ^(H)son of Berechiah, whom ^(I)you murdered between the ^[f]temple and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon ^(J)this generation.
