²⁹ And I say this, brothers: The time is limited,^(A) so from now on those who have wives should be as though they had none,

¹¹ Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us,^(A) on whom the ends of the ages^(B) have come.^(C)

⁸ You also must be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the Lord’s coming is near.^(A)

End-Time Ethics

⁷ Now the end of all things is near;^(A) therefore, be serious and disciplined^(B) for prayer.

⁹ The Lord does not delay His promise,^(A) as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any^(B) to perish^(C) but all to come to repentance.^(D)

¹¹ Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness

The Last Hour

¹⁸ Children, it is the last hour.^(A) And as you have heard, “Antichrist^(B) is coming,” even now many antichrists have come. We know from this that it is the last hour.

³ The one who reads this is blessed,^(A) and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep^[a] what is written in it are blessed, because the time is near!

¹⁰ He also said to me, “Don’t seal the prophetic words of this book, because the time is near.^(A)
